Newtown is a band that is on the cutting edge of what bluegrass has to offer today. Though steeped in tradition and able to give a confident nod to the music of yesterday, Newtown is a band of young, talented, and creative musicians and singers able to transcend what is expected to be the "norm" for Bluegrass bands. Instead, they unveil a fresh new sound that shows what is possible for the bluegrass music of tomorrow. ~ Jeremy Garrett/The Infamous Stringdusters

"I've been listening to Kati Penn sing and play for a long time, and she just keeps getting better--not just more skilled, but more thoughtful, and without losing a single ounce of energy and drive.  This time out, it's a privilege to have a couple of songs of mine sitting next to ones from some truly great writers, and exciting to hear the great group of musicians she's got in her band.  Thanks, all, for a job well done!"
